Livelihoods

October 20, 2022

We gathered this morning with around 70 women from Kalobeyei refugee settlement (part of the Kakuma refugee camp system). These women have asked for training and help with small business startups to help them feed their families when rations run out every month.

IAFR Board member, Stan Diddams, offered som basic training before the women were asked to share their ideas concerning what kind of businesses they want to estabkish.

Engagement was good. Now comes the hard part.

The livelihoods program will be led and implemented by our local refugee church partner agency, URHC. They still have a lot of planning and preparation to do, but we are encouraged by the women's readiness to go to work.
