Long-term workers are required to cover 100% of their personal and ministry expenses. They are also required to have adequate private health insurance. Donations for approved IAFR workers are tax deductible in the USA.

Title: Malta Teammate
Reports to: IAFR Malta Leader
Summary
IAFR workers focus on nurturing the faith and well-being of uprooted people. The primary aim of IAFR in Malta is to work together with local churches to assist displaced people with integration and assimilation.
Malta Team Description
Malta teammates enjoy meeting new people and making strangers feel welcome. They find creative ways to address the needs of forcibly displaced people related to identity, belonging and purpose - both inside and outside of the Asulon Centre. They reflect hope in the midst of loss and crisis. They put people before task. They are team players who not only support the opinions and efforts of others, but also give voice to their own ideas. They are ready to serve, supporting each other in a demanding context of endless challenges and needs.
General Responsibilities for IAFR workers in Malta
- Engage in service among displaced people in one or more of the following areas: spiritual and emotional support; advocacy; humanitarian assistance; training and consulting; capacity building.
- Contribute or develop a specific skill or focus to support the ongoing efforts of IAFR in Malta. This includes serving in the Asulon center and skills such as: book keeper, computer technician, photographer, story writer, event facilitator, ESL expert, etc.
- Develop and pursue a plan each year that includes personal renewal and ongoing personal development.
- Participate in annual European Refugee Highway Partnership meetings.
- Take part in monthly meetings and the annual review process with IAFR leadership.
- Abide by the established policies and procedures of the IAFR handbook and ministryspecific related agreements.
- Maintain regular communication with donors, supporters and friends. Share stories of how God is at work through the ministry, locally as well as internationally through IAFR website and other media.
Minimum Requirements for Applicants
- Minimum age: 21 years
- Minimum service commitment: 2 years on field location
- English language requirement: Able to converse clearly with others
- Personal identification and resonance with IAFR’s values and affirmations
- Active participation in a local church
Expectations for Service in Malta
- Complete the IAFR Maltese language training requirement within the first year.
- Complete all IAFR training requirements within the first year.
- Participate in a local church.
- Develop healthy and appropriate relationships.
- Intentionally seek ways to promote integration.
- Initiate and participate in ministries that include both forcibly displaced people and local communities.
- Come alongside of ministries initiated by refugees.
- Incorporate local volunteers and short term workers into the work.
- Welcome input from fellow teammates and extend grace to them.
- Work humbly within a wide spectrum of cultural and theological perspectives.

Team Leader in Malta
We are looking for a Team Leader to pioneer long-term IAFR ministry in Malta.

Title: Team Leader – IAFR Malta
Reports to: IAFR EU Regional Leader
Summary
IAFR workers focus on nurturing the faith and well-being of uprooted people. The team leader facilitates and leads others in developing and reaching the primary aims and focus of the team. The primary aim of IAFR in Malta is to work together with local churches to assist displaced people with integration and assimilation.

Team Leader Priorities
- Vision and Planning. Facilitate the development of shared vision, strategic planning and on-going assessment with the local IAFR team and partners. Keep IAFR well-informed of progress and challenges and related developments.
- Team Building. Intentionally facilitate effective teamwork and a healthy team environment. Meet monthly with individual teammates for encouragement, review and problem-solving. Encourage on-going personal development of teammates. Assure ex pat teammates are in compliance with host country laws.
- Renewal. Encourage and enable times of rest and renewal for teammates.
- Learn. Promote a learning environment within the team. Keep informed of research, news, policies and other issues related to the local context, team and refugee population.
- Resource Development. Facilitate the development of resources that help the team, partners and local churches more effectively serve refugees and advocate on their behalf.
- Networking. Pursue and facilitate strategic relationships and resources that strengthen the local team and ministry.
- Mobilization. Communicate the team’s mission and opportunities for partnership to local churches and the church at large. Keep IAFR well-informed related to personnel needs and openings. Facilitate the development of resources that assist new teammates in communicating the vision and value of the local ministry.
- Storytelling. Assure that the team is sharing stories of how God is at work through the ministry, locally as well as internationally through IAFR website and other media.

- Computer skills: Comfortable using Microsoft Word and Email along with a willingness to learn how to use other software and programs.
