Unpaid volunteer opportunities to serve with IAFR will be posted here as they become available. Please contact us if you are interested in volunteering with IAFR to help in any of the following capacities.

IAFR Highway eNews Production

Reponsibility: Research international refugee news headlines and produce a weekly IAFR Refugee News Headline. See the News menu for examples.

Requirements: The ability to create and distribute news using Constant Contact. If no experience, IAFR can teach you the ropes. This requires about an hour per week.

Location: Anywhere. High speed internet recommended.

IAFR Twitter Management

Responsibility: Tweet daily news from the Refugee Highway to @IAFR.

Requirements: The ability to scan refugee related daily news (IAFR provides the sources) and to tweet headlines from main news items to the IAFR Twitter account. This requires about 15 minutes per day.

Location: Anywhere. High speed internet connection recommended.

IAFR Resource Alerts Production

Responsibility: Research available refugee ministry related resources and produce a monthly IAFR Resource Alert. Click to view examples.

Requirements: The ability to create and distribute alerts using Constant Contact. If no experience, IAFR can teach you the ropes.

Location: Anywhere. High speed internet recommended.

IAFR Research Projects

Responsibility: Conduct online research related to specific IAFR projects. Contact us to explore research opportunities with IAFR.

Requirements: Comfortable with the internet and using search engines. The ability to clearly summarize and document research using Word software.

Location: Anywhere. High speed internet recommended.

Map of the Refugee Highway Production

Responsibility: Update the Map of the Refugee Highway based on June 2011 Global Trends (UNHCR publication) and World Refugee Survey (USCRI publication). Click to view current map.

Requirements: Comfortable using Adobe Photoshop. Requires computer with a minimum of 4GB RAM. The need for this project is in June of every year, with a push to have the map updated and ready for printing by World Refugee Sunday.

Location: Anywhere. Access to Adobe Photoshop and high speed internet required.

IAFR Mailings

Responsibility: Fold IAFR reports, address, stuff, stamp, seal and mail envelopes with bimonthly IAFR Reports.

Requirements: A 3-4 hour time slot available every two months to complete the task. Access to a printer with the capacity to print addresses on envelopes.

Location: Minneapolis, Minnesota. There is workspace at the downtown IAFR office.
